Sometime after Fundsoft sank without trace leaving me marooned on the desert island of unemployment I was contacted by Capita, outsourcing partner to Zurich Insurance, an ex-client of both Cap Gemini and then Fundsoft. They were still using CUTAS and had rescued a couple of my colleagues when Fundsoft went down, and needing a couple of contractors were looking to reunite the old team. By now I was running out of time, money, mortgage protection - everything - so this was a timely rescue from that damned island! Ten months of contracting brought me back from the brink; unfortunately halfway though a further contract the credit crunch kicked in, the work dropped off and I was marooned again.
Luckily for me the work picked up again the following year and I was employed during 2010, up to Christmas Eve... unfortunately Santa didn't bring me another job for Christmas though...
... the island hasn't changed much in my absence...
